Find new and used car dealers in Austin, TX

Buying new car can always be a hassle (though a good one) – the choices are so many! There a lot of decisions that need to be made – do you want a practical family car, or a sport stud, or an offroad truck for those great outdoor trips. Do you take a lease and go with something more expensive, or do you save up for a bit longer and get something more affordable? The origin of the car is also a big choice for many owners – do you go domestic, or bet on one of those exotic foreign manufacturers? Will you drive this car on a daily basis, in which case you’ll likely to get the most practical one, or do you opt in for only a summer drive to preserver its condition for the longest time possible? If you live in Austin, or in Texas for that matter, you are likely to be asking all these questions yourself.

Below are some of the featured car dealerships from Austin (along with some comments from the yelp.com crowd) – please email us if you know a good dealer as well.

I thought I would never say this, but I had a very pleasant experience buying a car from a dealership this weekend. The staff was helpful and patient as we determined the right vehicle for me.
My sales consultant was Jorge Flores and he couldn’t have been more helpful in brokering this deal for me. He made buying a new car a fun experience!

If you’re in the market for a Ford, this is the place to go in Austin!

My boyfriend is a Jetta kind of guy…leather seats, sunroof, boxy car kind of guy. So, we decided to come here on one of his days off to check out their inventory. It was a cold ,drizzly day. When we got there Joe Bakir greeted us and gave us one of those big umbrella to use to look at the cars.

We selected a few that we wanted to see the interiors to and he grabbed a handful of keys and let us go at it. Like kids in a candy store. We decided not to test drive on a rainy day…scary. Joe was great, he had to go somewhere but was still very patient with us and let us browse. The cars were a little pricier than we were hoping for and with the economy and jobs so unpredictable, we decided to not go with more expensive cars. None the less, good place with good service.

Mini of Austin

7113 McNiel Dr

Austin, TX 78727

(512) 410-2734

had a great experience. My tires were wearing out in the front, after I’d had them for only 4000 miles, so I took it to MINI of Austin because I thought I might need an alignment.

The guys greeted me personally in the repair area and looked at my car while I waited. They said the tires were very evenly worn, and they didn’t think I needed an alignment. They offered to rotate the tires for me, but since I was about to buy new tires, I declined. They could have just taken my money and done an alignment that my car didn’t need.

It should be noted that I’m also an Austin MINI Cooper Car Club member, so they already knew who I was, and they really wanted to help me.

I have wanted a Mazda3 since they first came out. I finally bought one from Amin. I went here first and Amin worked with me the exact way I preferred (no BS).

I price hunted all around Texas and the price Amin gave was the best. He made the entire transaction smooth and painless. “Z” in the Service Department has been great at answering questions and helping me out too!

This is the dealership for Mazdas!

Tips for buying used car

Buying a used car can be a fun experience especially if you know what to look for before making your purchase. When you buy a used a car you can save money as a used vehicles cost much lesser than a new one. You should do your research well as many inexperienced buyers may end up paying more than they should or get a car which requires regular maintenance. If you are also planning to buy a used car do your research well so that you get a good car at a reasonable price.

Here are a few tips to help people who plan to buy an used car:

i) Do your research
This is the important aspect of finding a great deal when buying a used car. You should know what to look for in the car before making your purchase. An experienced buyer has an idea of how a used car should look and feel like according to its life span. A used car’s life span and condition depends on its use as also on its make. When you are trying to find a used car to buy make sure you have some knowledge on a few factors like realistic life span, common signs of wear and tear, features of the car etc.

ii) Check the history
Its is important that you know a bit about the history of the vehicle before buying used car. You can easily find this out by requesting for a car history report before making your purchase. If you are unable to get a history report and the salesperson just tells you that the vehicle is in good condition, chances are that he is trying to hide a major defect and you should trust your gut feeling in such a situation.

You should consider the above discussed points when buying used car to ensure you purchase a good vehicle at a reasonable price.

Tips on how to sell used cars, 3 steps to a fast sell

Selling a used car straight out most always yields a greater financial return than trading. However, finding a buyer may be stressful if one does not follow the correct steps. Below are some tips on how to sell used cars which you may find helpful.

The fist step in selling a used car is preparation. One of the most important selling factors is appearance. Potential buyers will respond more positively to a car that is clean and neatly kept. Make certain that the inside the vehicle is clean. Remove any trash, thoroughly vacuume the floors, and shine the interior. As well, the outside the vehicle should be maintained. Washing and waxing the paint will greatly enhance overall looks. As a result, buyers will see the car as a good choice.

Pricing is the next step in selling your used car. Make certain to price reasonably. One of the most common reasons for the slow selling of used cars is over pricing. You want to be fair with yourself but also with the buyer. Pricing a car far above reason will only lead to longer ownership. Compare the current market prices for same model cars in your area. Find those within the same condition and try to find an average price range. Set your price within that range.

Lastly, advertise widely. Advertising is what leads possible buyers to your car. Take clear pictures of the car and post them on free online sales sites, in area community paper classifieds, and any publication that may reach buyers. As well, make up flyers with pictures of the car. Post these on all area store bulletin boards. Some stores may even allow you to post the flyer n windows or doors. Also, do not forget word of mouth. Tell, family, friends, and neighbors about
the car. This may be your best method of advertisement.

If you present a clean car that is well priced and advertise sufficiently it is sure to sell. Follow the “how to sell used car” tips above. You will find a buyer before you know it.
